TIME RUN NARROW

lying back on a shady bed of green
with the spirits of summers past
dancing about me

faint visions begin swaying
a child resembling me
running alone and dancing
to the winds music

i can't help but wonder
am i happy
with what's been done
time's gift--
so it is--
to make me wiser
as i acquire age?

o', but this memory child breathes
all that lives and innocently
gives thanks with laughter

unaware with time he'll get older
and memories will be
the only things left for him
to dream upon

damned ever seeking
selfish you are
time forever fleeting
never tarry--
just a moment--
as you run on and on
time run narrow.
